"How much does a website cost in the Philippines?" is one of the most searched questions by small business owners, and also one of the most frustrating to get a straight answer for. Quotes range from ₱3,000 to ₱500,000 for what sounds like the same thing.
I'm a software engineer based in Cordova, Cebu, and I build websites for a living. This post is a rough, honest estimate of what web design and website development cost in the Philippines in 2026, and why the numbers vary so much. These are market ranges gathered from public pricing guides, not a quote from me.
The short answer: estimated website prices in the Philippines
Most published guides land in roughly these ranges (in PHP):
| Type of website | Estimated price |
|---|---|
| Basic template site (1 to 5 pages) | ₱3,000 to ₱15,000 |
| Small business website | ₱15,000 to ₱50,000 |
| Custom business website | ₱40,000 to ₱100,000 |
| E-commerce store | ₱80,000 to ₱300,000+ |
| Custom web app or large site | ₱150,000 to ₱500,000+ |
Some agency guides put a "competent" business site higher, around ₱65,000 to ₱300,000, and boutique agencies can go past ₱800,000. Prices in Cebu tend to sit a bit below Metro Manila agency rates, but the spread is the same: cheap template work at the bottom, custom engineering at the top.
Freelancer vs agency web design price
- Freelancer: usually the cheapest route. Simple sites often cost ₱3,000 to ₱30,000, while a senior freelancer building something custom can charge ₱60,000 to ₱180,000.
- Small agency: typically ₱100,000 to ₱250,000, with a team (designer, developer, project manager) behind the project.
- Large or boutique agency: ₱250,000 and up, for multi-stakeholder or regulated projects.
If you're paying by the hour instead, Philippine developer rates generally run from a few hundred pesos for juniors to around ₱1,500 to ₱3,000 for seniors, and more for agency-billed seniors.
The costs people forget (the yearly bill)
The build price is only part of it. Budget for these every year:
- Domain name: about ₱500 to ₱3,000 per year depending on the extension.
- Web hosting: roughly ₱1,500 to ₱6,000 per year for basic shared hosting, more for quality managed or VPS hosting.
- Maintenance: around ₱1,000 to ₱5,000 per month for updates, backups, and security.
- SEO setup: ₱5,000 to ₱30,000 or more as a one-time job.
- Content: writing and photos, often priced per page.
A good rule of thumb: a ₱60,000 website with proper hosting, maintenance, and basic SEO can cost closer to ₱90,000 to ₱120,000 in its first year.
What makes a website cost more
- Custom design vs a template. A themed WordPress site is cheaper than a design built from scratch.
- Number of pages and features. Booking forms, member logins, dashboards, and multi-language support all add time.
- Payments. Integrating gateways like PayMongo, PayPal, Dragonpay, or Maya, and handling failed payments and duplicate callbacks correctly, is real engineering work, not a plugin toggle.
- Performance and SEO. A fast site that ranks takes deliberate work: image handling, caching, clean markup, and structured data.
- Integrations. Connecting to your inventory, CRM, or automations.
- Who builds it. Experience matters. The cheapest quote often means a rebuild later.
Is a cheap website worth it?
Sometimes. If you just need a simple online presence, a ₱10,000 to ₱25,000 site from a trusted freelancer is fine, as long as scope and deliverables are written down. If the website is a sales channel for your business, spending more on proper build quality, speed, and SEO usually pays for itself. The classic mistake is paying for a small fix with a small budget, then paying again within 18 months to rebuild.
How to get an accurate quote
Before you ask anyone for a price, write down:
- What the site needs to do (show info, take bookings, sell products)
- How many pages and which features
- Whether you have branding, photos, and content ready
- Who will manage it after launch
The clearer the scope, the more accurate (and lower) the quote.
